Straight about the limits
What we do not do, and why
CreekWell is not a licensed contractor. Under Arizona's handyman exemption that sets three hard limits, and we would rather you know them before you call than after:
- Nothing over $1,000 on a single project, including labor and materials, and a job cannot be split into pieces to get under it.
- Nothing requiring a building permit. In the City of Prescott that includes water heater replacement and any plumbing addition, move or removal. Fixture replacement is permit-exempt.
- No gas work at all, at any price — natural gas or propane, connection or repair.
So: water heater replacement, tankless installation, repipes, main line replacement and new construction are all jobs for a licensed contractor. If that is what you need, we will say so on the phone rather than at the door.

Can you come out right now?

What does a plumbing call cost?
Drains are $179 flat. Everything else is quoted at a flat price before any work starts.
There is no trip fee anywhere in Yavapai County and no hourly meter running while you decide. You get the number first, and it is the number you pay.
Can you replace my water heater?
No. Replacement needs a permit in the City of Prescott, which puts it outside the handyman exemption.
Service and repair are fine — flush, anode rod, thermostats, valves, tankless descaling. A full replacement is a licensed contractor's job and we will tell you that up front.
Do you work on gas appliances?
No gas work at all, at any price.
A.R.S. § 32-1121(D)(2) removes all natural gas and propane work from the exemption regardless of the dollar amount. That includes gas water heaters where the gas connection is part of the job.
Are you licensed and insured?
Not a licensed contractor. Insured, and manufacturer-certified by Moen, Kohler, Navien, Rinnai and Charger.
The licensing limits above are the honest boundary of what thirty-two years in the trade currently lets us take on. They are a statement about paperwork, not about competence — and they are not negotiable.

Work is performed under the Arizona handyman exemption, A.R.S. § 32-1121(A)(14): any single project is limited to less than $1,000 including labor and materials, and excludes work requiring a building permit and all natural gas and propane work.
