Drain cleaning in Prescott — $179 flat
One price for the clog, whichever drain it is and however long it takes. No trip fee anywhere in Yavapai County and no surprise at the end.
One price, whichever drain
Kitchen sink, bathroom sink, tub, shower, laundry standpipe or the main line out to the street — $179, flat. If it takes twenty minutes the price is $179. If it takes three hours the price is $179.
The only thing that changes the number is finding out that the line does not have a clog in it. A collapsed pipe, a root intrusion or a section that has settled is a different job, and we will show you what we found before anyone talks about money.
Please do not pour chemicals down it
Chemical drain openers are the most common way a $179 job turns into a bigger one. They generate heat, which deforms older pipe and can soften joints. They rarely clear a real blockage — they open a channel through it, which closes again within the week.
And when they do not work, that caustic liquid is sitting in the trap waiting for whoever opens it. If you have already used some, just tell us. Nobody is going to be annoyed; we just want to know before we take the trap off.
When it keeps coming back
A drain that clogs once is a clog. The same drain clogging three times in a year is telling you something structural:
- Roots. Common on older Prescott properties with mature trees and clay or cast iron laterals. They come back on a schedule.
- A belly in the line. A section that has settled and now holds water. Solids drop out there every time.
- A venting problem. If the drain gurgles or the toilet burps when the tub empties, the issue is air, not blockage.
- Grease. Kitchen lines in particular. It cools, it coats, it narrows the pipe a little more each month.
Clearing it is still $179. Whether it is worth repeating that every few months, or worth getting a camera in there and fixing the cause, is a decision you should get to make with the facts.

How much does drain cleaning cost in Prescott?
$179 flat, for any drain in the house including the main line.
The price does not change with how long it takes. There is no trip fee anywhere in Yavapai County, and you get the number before any work starts.
Can you clear a main sewer line?
Yes, same $179 flat rate.
If the line turns out to be broken, collapsed or full of roots rather than blocked, that is a different job and a licensed contractor's work. You will see what we found before that conversation happens.
Is a drain snake or a jetter better?
It depends on what is in the line, and that is the point of looking first.
A cable cuts through roots and solid obstructions. A jetter scours grease and sludge off the pipe wall, which a cable just bores a hole through. Kitchen lines usually want the jetter; root intrusions usually want the cable.
Not a licensed contractor
Work is performed under the Arizona handyman exemption, A.R.S. § 32-1121(A)(14): any single project is limited to less than $1,000 including labor and materials, and excludes work requiring a building permit and all natural gas and propane work. Neil Staiger has 32 years of Arizona plumbing experience and holds current manufacturer certifications from Moen, Kohler, Navien, Rinnai and Charger Water Treatment Products. More about that. Additional Arizona contractor licenses are in progress.
